hey folks,

sorry for the long post.

I'm changing jobs and am losing my iPAQ which runs TT2.

rather than buy a new iPAQ (it does far more than I need it to), I am considering the TTGO.

I just have a couple of questions though...

1) I use the postcodes as supplied by a very nice man somewhere on the web. however, I can only use a couple at a time as if I try to load them all the iPAQ crashes with the error message too many overlays. so I keep the OV files in another directory on the SD card and simply copy and paste them into the navigator directory as and when I need them.

Is the same thing possible with the GO or can it handle all the overlays (coupled with others, BMW garages, BP garages, Speed cams and others)?

I'm assuming that overlays can be added via the web?

2) The postcodes are obviously not official and not completely up-to-date. when I'm looking for somewhere that isn't in the postcode file and cannot be found any other way (even the maps are not always up-to-date), I use streetmap.co.uk to find the address, and then scroll around the screen on the iPAQ until I find the address and then I can use the "set as Destination" option in the menu. Is this possible on the GO?

many thanks

Yes and Yes !!

Although the TTG is set up for the UK postcodes using the first few digits only eg WD3 3 you can add the full set yourself. They are the same ones you have been using but have been consolidated into modified files as TTG can only use a max of 40 PoI groups. See www.timodonnell.co.uk/ttg. The others will exactly the same and you add them in the same way.

You can browse the map as well.

TTG is set up for road use only at the moment and won't work on footpaths and off-road hikes etc.

Also you can only set one waystation between two points + a few other bits left out.
