TTG with 3rd party antenna

Has anyone used a 3rd party antenna with their TTG. I have a LOWE GPS antenna that I used to use with my Garmin GPS unit. IIRC, I purchased a standard GPS antenna block & lead, and had to buy a short flying lead to convert it to the Garmin antenna plug.

The reason I ask is that I already have the unit wired into my car and if it would plug in (or I could make/buy a lead), it would make life a lot easier than re-wiring the car.

It will depend mainly on the supply voltage required.
