Speed Camera M4/ J8/9

Yesterday, I had a weird experience on the M4 between Jn 7 and 8/9 - leaving london (closer to J8/9), the speed limit is suddenly drops to 50 (singposted) without any prior warnings of this and soon after the 50 miles sign post there is some sort of a camera (I am not an expert on this ) placed to catch you.

But what concerns and confuses me is :

a. No prior warnings !
b. Insufficient distance between the sign post and the camera, to allow you to safely drop your speed !
c. After the above mentioned sign post, there is no other sign post (atleast upto Jn 10) to inform you if the speed restrictions have ended or does it continue at 50 !

Anybody out there with similar experiences ? Any comments ?

The only comment I'd make is that you should be slowing down before the sign so that you are doing 50mph or less when you reach the sign, not exceeding the speed limit for as far as you can get away with.

I speed, I know it's against the law and that is the chance I take, don't whine.
