GPS 60CS Software

I have a 60CS, could someone assist re software. Garmin suggest European Map Select as the suitable software for road navigation. However I can only find V6 updates on the net, not the full version. However I can easily find copies of Metroguide. Will this work with my 60CS. What are its drawbacks? Could I purchase Metroguide and update using the Map Select update?

You can buy Mapsource CitySelect here, and possibly elsewhere, too. I asked Garmin if they did the software only without the automotive kit, but apparently they don't. The answer I received suggested selling what I didn't want on eBay. I suggested they sell me what I actually wanted!

You can use MetroGuide and it will work with your 60CS, although you will lose the ability to automatically re-route. MetroGuide only allows you to generate routes on a PC and transfer them to your GPS, whereas CitySelect allows for automatic routing and re-routing all from the GPS itself.

No, you can't use MetroGuide to update to CitySelect, as far as I'm aware.

I use cityselect V6 - can get it e.g. http://www.gpsw.co.uk as the automotive kit (so includes in-car mounts that work well for me). AFAIK garmin don't support metroguide with auto-routing - but autorouting does work with cityselect and IMO it's one of the best reasons to get a 60C with cityselect - good compromise between a dedicated in-car system and a hiking/walking/cycling system.
