Well-spotted Vicky. What other websites do you monitor?
Trouble is that a CF GPS takes up a valuable slot, so £50 for the CF GPS seems a lot when they were selling Bluetooth GPS for the same amount.
Has anybody bought one yet, or are the CF GPS receivers another figment of Carphone Warehouse’s imagination.
I see that the iPAQ 5550s are still available, and at that price I’m not surprised because they’re cheaper elsewhere.

Hi
I check out a fair few sites for Bargains!,
Like you I dont think this one is such a bargain as the Bluetooth, but with the Street Level Mapping software its not a bad deal if someone is specifically looking for a CF Based solution.
The Bluetooth Units were excellent value, and I was very pleased with the ones I got from them, (Apart from one which was used with parts missing, but the exchanged that no quibble by next day courier) So with the extras I sold on Ebay mine was free and a few quid towards my next purchase as well
Regards

I have just spoken to CPW on the phone and they are not taking any orders for this because the price should be £199.99 and not the advertised £49.99. I Phoned again 5 minutes later and was told that they are "out of stock". They can't even get their stories straight.
de-ja-vu anyone? |

After speaking to another salesperson, that has told me that they are IN STOCK but incorrectly priced, I have placed an order on the web on the off-chance. It'll be interesting to see if they tell me it's out of stock. |

I wouldn't hold your breath drummer, it would seem that CPW can display whatever they like at whatever price they like but are not obliged to sell you anything displayed on their site:
Quote: | Where items are displayed online, they are not offers by us to sell the goods at that price but are known as “invitation to treat”. In law, they are not offers capable of acceptance by the customer. Rather, it is the customer who makes the offer to us to buy the item in question, which we may then accept or decline.
As a consequence of this, we are not obliged to sell any goods to a customer (even where they are displayed) and can therefore refuse any sale in our absolute discretion.

I got one at £49.99 but what a pile of poo, no mention of the fact it doesn't work on ppc 2003 in spec, I only found out when I dug deeper on the Navtech web site. |

My dad has bought one of these for £100, but he says it is telling him the software it comes with is not compatible with CE 2003. Can anyone confirm this? _________________ TomTom 6 - SPV M5000 and WM6
