Hi
We are driving to Southern Italy in a fortnight going through France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland and Italy and was wondering what is the best way to access PocketGPS and what is the max data usage say in 12 hours fast driving.
I am not very technically minded but think I have three options, use the data plan on my mobile phone which is 10GB a month, use the car's wifi which has a 12gb card or just update an old Tom tom. The later has the benefit of when unplugged (internal battery went years ago) there is no trace of the software being used (as far as I can tell) which may prove useful in France and Switzerland, as I suspect the police could easily check a phone.
Can anyone technically minded give me some advice? |

If you don't display the map in CA, it uses no data (apart from updates) but just gives you the voice and popup warning. I assume that you are talking about CA on a phone? |

I use CA on my iPhone and have never come close to my data allowance. With CA set to show map when near camera. I also use phone to check emails and a couple of websites. Travelling all over the UK, about 1,000 miles a week on average.
Now that Roaming is the same price as U.K., surely you don't have any worries. _________________ Dennis
