I have been using tomTom since Navigator on PDA, present unit is a One XL
I wanted to have an updated model with things like lane guidance and spoken street names.
I bought a Via 135 but subsequently discovered it did not have Itinerary Planning which I have had since Navigator 2.
As this is the most useful feature for my purposes I contacted TOmTom to enquire which model had the feature. The answer is they have dropped Itinerary Planning at some point, they have something called Via but that is limited to only 3 via's. Totally useless for planning.
Do you know of any maker who produces a unit with Itinerary planning feature. I tried a Garmin which did have it but the downloading of custom POI's was so unfriendly and I never could get them displayed on the maps I gave up.I would even search for a secondhand Tom Tom which is more up to date than my One XL if I knew when TomTom dropped the required feature from their models.
All help appreciated
Doug

Any TomTom that uses their "Home" software to connect to a computer (the so called "NAV2" models) will have the Itinerary Planning feature.

None of the models that connect using "MyTomTom" (the "NAV3" models) will have it.

The last "GO" models with it would be the 550/750/950, and those are often available refurbished (damn-near indistinguishable from new) in TomTom's own "Outlet" store.

The XL LIVE IQ Routes Edition is also suitable and available, but does not have an SD card slot for expansion.
