Problem with 13 july database

Hi all
what a great site, if only it had been around in my youth i wouldn't have (very very nearly) lost my licence!

Anyway, loading the consolidated UK threw up a data error in the csv file and only loaded half the locations. Fallen back to last weeks data for now.

System is Windows 7 home premium feeding a Garmin Nuvi 2300LT

Is it just me?

POI Loader says 'There is a data format error on line 1676 of file D:\Garmin\Safetycam\Jul11x/pocketgps_uk_mobile.csv The data earlier in the file will be written, but no more data can be read from this file'

Then goes on to load 5913 POI's

First time I have seen this error since first starting in 2005!

Falling back to last weeks file loads all 12034 POI's fine (as have previous 300 files) so I assume a data error (as it says) in the new file.

Have you tried downloading a fresh copy of the current database then see if it still throws the error when loading that? - Mike

err Yes!

Redid everything from scratch, got a different data error!

Tracked it to the new flash drive I am using to transfer between computers!

Went back to my old system and everything works fine.

I am currently preparing my TOMTOM for travel in France and have loaded the updated cameras but there appears to be some warnings missing.

EURO SPECS 120 NO OGG FILE
EURO SPECS 70 NO OGG FILE
EURO MOBILE 90x2 BMP

I tried to download the whole database again and still have these items missing....

Hi Bob... Check your download....

There are currently no EURO SPECS 70 or EURO 120 SPECS cameras in the database.
So there are no .ov2 files for them and the download system is clever enough not to download .oggs or .bmps that are not needed.

As for the EURO MOBILE 90x2 .bmp, I just tried a download of the Euro Speedzoned files and pocketgps_eur_mobile_90_X2.bmp WAS there, so you might need to try a fresh download.

the bmp is just showing a paint box picture and not the usual sign, and windows viewer tells the file is empty

there are no Specs 120 in the current Euro download. Those files must be from an old database? We also have the Specs 120 bitmap on our server so if there was a specs 120 file it would get the correct bitmap for it.

can you check the modified date of that file and compare to the other files? i suspect this is from an old download.

I reckon there must have been one once, because the one for pMobile90 X2 would have been made from it, but it's not there on the two previous downloads I had either.

Anyway, the work of a moment to copy and paste the number 90 from the 'pMobile' into the coloured frame of the 'mobile'. I'll email it to you.
