Yea, I would have thought that a minimum QC measure would have been someone in Garmin downloading to his/her PC and then transferring to unit before general release. |
Garmin have now posted a revised version of 2011_10. It is designated 2011_10a and is 3.67GB . This is more like the size expected instead of the original 2.17GB.
It will be a few hours yet of download and update to see if it works! |

2011_10a is the full download file for Europe.
Starting from scratch the whole job went well and it took just about 3Hrs to complete the update. |

Mine is in as well. Seems to be fine, but it only just fits onto the Zumo 550.

| Whereas there was an update available for both my 255 and 765 there isn't one now for either unit. I assume Garmin have stopped the possibility of people downloading duff updates until this is well and truly sorted out. |

My current experience is that European 2011 is downloadable from the My Maps tab. It dpes not show on my Dashboard or its tab.
The full title and the size of the download shows on the download manager when it is started.
2011_10a 3.67GB. This works fine on my Nuvi255. |

| Not currently available for me, Nuvi 660 with lifetime. Was available last week ok. Not in MyMaps or Dashboard. Any else with success? |

Its there now for both my 205w and 765t - for the first time since launch, so guess everything is sorted now? Have it downloading as I type (22 mins to go!)

The update is available for me - Streetpilot 2720 - on the Home page and the Maps page of My Garmin. However he update is showing against 2010.2 rather than the more recent 2010.3.
Give it a try tonight. |

Updated to the new maps ok. I have now noticed that they have introduced new fuel categories (auto fuel, convenience, and truck stop). This isn't too much of a problem with mapsource but on my nuvi765t it doesn't distinguish between the 3. Therefore when I look for fuel locally it now says my local co-op is the place to go. Sadly it isn't.
You now have to be very careful on your travels that if you ask it to direct you to fuel it doesn't take you to the local grocers which may be selling campingaz but not 4 star. |
