No, that's right - the current database field will be blank until Camera Manager has managed to download it. The POI directory has been picked up automatically from the last use of POI Loader.

Have a quick read of the help page - right-click on the icon (in the system tray) and select Help.

If you're using Vista, there are some useful tips back on page 32 of this thread...

If you are using Camera Manager you don't need to download and install the database yourself.

Briefly the steps are

1) CM downloads the database
2) CM alters the download to suit your settings and places the files in your POILoader folder.
3) You upload the files with POILoader.

So i would delete any downloads you have made manually and remove them from your POILoader folder. Close Camera Manager and make sure it's not running. Then close all instances of Internet Explorer and goto Control Panel Internet Options, and flush the temp files, cookies and history on your PC. Then open IE and log back into PGPSW. Once you have done this run Camera Manager.

One more question - are you running a software firewall such as Zone Alarm?

I take it your subscription is with this account (britishbulldog7)?? Are you logged in under Internet Explorer and using it now?

Can you download the database in IE normally?

What security software do you have installed?

Great little utility! Many thanks.

A question - it's downloading just the UK database. Is there any way to get it to download the European database too?

britishbulldog7- I really don't know where to go from here. I'm racking my brains on the quiet to think of something but most problems are easily solved with CM.

The earlier versions of Camera Manger did allow you to drag and drop a manual download onto it. (In fact that's what I'm still using) I did try to pursuade Ash to keep that functionality in for folks like me who don't want any extra little gizmos running all the time but I think that it got taken out which was a pity. I don't know if you could get an earler version

What are the compressed files for when the CM downloads the camera database.

It says it's world on the file but only has UK stuff in it ?.

It's a copy of the UK single file database. The name of the file is

PocketGPSWorld Speed Camera Database.zip

CM downloads that file and then reconfigures the data according to your preferences.

PocketGPSWorld is the name of this website and doesn't refer to the database contents.

OK thanks,

BTW I have just tested the CM software & it is working a treat. After following your advice no more annoying bleeps if I go over the stated limit.
