rx1950 & tomtom navigator

Can anyone help??

I recently purchased (seperately)an Ipaq rx1950, tomtom navigator 5, and a thinknavi cradle.

Great piece of kit, and all works together well.
EXCEPT...
I know that the rx1950 isn't great on memory capacity, and therefore use an SD card to keep maps,etc.

THE PROBLEM.. on 2 occasions when I have come to use tomtom, I find that the map I was using is not there, and when I use file explorer in windows mobile 5, there are no files in the map directory.
However when I look at the directory using a card reader thru my pc (in windows XP), all the files are there, but have been renamed using very unusual characters. I cannot delete these files and have to reformat the Card and start again.

ANYONE any idea's please..
