I hadn't realised that with zooming off it would retain a manual setting - so that's a great help and may be a partial solution.

I have recently upgraded from a TTG 510 to the TTG 730 and am finding it less easy to read the display. For some reason the map on the 720 appears to be on a lower level of "zoom" than the 510.
