May I ask what you mean by a clone device?

1) Download the new map to a location of your choice.
2) Once downloaded and verified then another button to build and load the map files.That makes far too much sense K. Esp your point 1).

Ok, so I bit the bullet and exited GE. Restarted it, got the option of reinstalling the map to the nav, clicked that, 1 hour 27 minutes to go. Not sure I'm going to have any nails left by then... : ...
