found the problem. After dismantling the unit the connector for the jack plug fell out .Re soldering should do the trick Very Happy

I downloaded the free Roadtour finest 500 , on checking the properties it shows as a application so I presume in needs to be installed directly to the unit ?

I have downloaded the april database and installed but the speeds displayed on nuvi are wrong, Checked databse in excel and seems fine.

Speed limit 30mph unit shows 19 mph
speed limit 50 ...
