I could be wrong (and often am), but I think that if you use POI Loader in 'Manual' rather than 'Express' mode, you're given he option to add proximity alerts to the POI's you're uploading.

Has anyone had any luck with backing up the Transflash card. I was thinking of getting a Transflash reader but there doesn't seem much point unless you can make a useable backup card.

It happened when it was being powered via the usb. I've tried it with batteries and the ext. power lead and it seems to be fine now.
