Nuvi 50 - updating maps?

I realise that this may cause some amusement at my naivety, but nothing ventured, etc!"
I have a year old Nuvi 50, which generally operates well, at least better than the two previous TomToms I have had.
I recently bought on a well known auction site an SD card with Garmin City Navigator Europe NT Maps, Full coverage.
I am now wondering how to transfer these maps to my Nuvi, if indeed this is possible. I have copied the maps to a micro SD card, and plugged it into the Nuvi, but to no avail.
I hope someone can help, even it is to say 'No way', but thanks anyway.

If it's a genuine card (!) then you simply pop it into your nuvi. You can't copy the files to another card as it's locked to the original card.

Is it really on a sd card though? Or on a micro in a sd caddy ... as that's how they come, so you need to separate the two.

Great reply! I have had a close look at the SD card and it is indeed a micro SD card in a carrier.
I will put it into the Nuvi tomorrow and see what transpires.

Thanks again. solved! I put the micro-SD card in, turned it on and the new maps have been installed - easy peasy when you know how!
