Hi great site looking for some wisdom Confused Hope someone can help. I've just bought a 1390T but sort of wishing I'd gone for something else! It replaces my rather old Navman S703D.

My gripe is the 1390T insits on taking me a specific route rather than letting me plan one. I'll give you 2 examples.
1) I'm off to France in June so I put in my destination and I'm routed via the chunnel! which is no good as I'm sailing from Poole my s70 allowed me to adust the route type and this would go via Poole.

2) we do a route up to Kenilworth near to Coventry quite regularly and I live near weston super mare. The 1390T takes me M5 A46 etc. However I know the M5 M42 M40 is quicker and a much easier journey straight through.

Is there anyway of changing how the 1390T plans my journey? Fastest, shortest and fuel saving make no diffrence.

Lastley it seems that the finding of streets places etc is very hit and miss I look for a destination by putting in city-number-street name it shows no matches. I put a street name in and search all and it finds it after trawlling through all the other streets with the same name in the UK. WHY?? Mad

It's a right pain sorry for the long winded questions

Sounds like you should have gone for a 14xx series nuvi, which allows better 'route' planning. Best you can do on a 13xx series is insert one via point to help shape the route. To do that tap Where to, etc etc and once the nuvi is navigating tap Where to and put in the via point, when you now hit go your nuvi will ask you if you want that as a new destination or as a via point. Select via point and the nuvi will then take you there first and then on to your final destination.

As for addresses, easiest way is input post code then number, you don't need to enter city name at all Wink

Cheers I think I'll have to live with it/ get use to it. I looked at the 14xx series but didn't want the 5" screen (fussy I know)
