Disappearing maps !!! and new Onboard for I-phone

Hiya all ....newbie to the forums although i have subscribed to Pocket GPS for ages. My problem is that i have two Garmin Streetpilots c510. After downloading the new camera updates last week i have now no maps on either device !! I have tried downloading from the disc without any joy and also from the unlock code but still nothing .I have e-mailed Garmin but as yet they have not replied. My other issue is with my brand new app Onboard for I-Phone . Great little thing but hardly any cameras on it ! It does say you get free safety cameras installed. Once again i have e-mailed Garmin but no reply . Can i link the Onboard thingy up with my Garmin camera updates ? I can do it with Cam Alert but will it work with the I-phone ? I do not want to try it and mess everything up . Any help would be appreciated ..

As long as your iPhone supports running apps in the background then it will be fine with CamerAlert and a navigation app - Mike

I'm trying to think (without success) of any way in which uploading the PGPSW database (which is just a bunch of POIs) to your device could end up with no maps found.

I presume you used POILoader?
Once it had finished, did you use "Safely Remove Hardware" on the PC, BEFORE you unplugged the Streetpilots?

Mike ....thanks for that , yes it does work .My gripe with Garmin is that it is advertised as having safety cameras already installed , but after using it for a week now it has only found 6 cameras !!! As yet Garmin have not replied to me.


Andy ,. it is a strange one but it happened to both of my devices !!! I have managed to get one set of maps back thanks to Map Source but the other one will not unlock. I have the unlock code and it goes through the motions of installing them but when i switch it on it says " Could not unlock maps " I have at last received a reply to my e-,ail from Garmin asking me to check my Garmin file and tell them what is in it . Sop we shall give that a go . Thanks for your help guys !!
