Having loaded all of the camera alert files for both UK and Europe into my Go 1005 all manually assigned with the appropiate warning messages etc, a very time consuming exercise believe me. Now that the PGPSW database has been updated I have to repeat the whole process once again and so on as the database is updated. I have observed that after downloading and expanding the new files, the new file time stamps are the same as the previous version of the database, now if the database has been updated I would expect the files updated would have a new date and time corresponding to the time they where updated. If these date and times did change then all I would have to do is load up only these files instead of the whole database......Does that make sense or am I talking rubbish.... |

A few points raised there....
1. Yes, loading all the speed cam files one by one and then setting up spoken warnings for them *is* very time consuming on these new models. Not PGPSWs fault though and we can just hope that TomTom sort out a more user-friendly way to add POIs on these models soon.
2. I'm not sure why you are seeing the same time-stamps on your downloaded files. I've just looked back at several of my downloads and all of the files are stamped with the date I downloaded and extracted them.
But it shouldn't matter anyway... even if the timestamps ARE the same, the new file would still get uploaded by MyTomTom onto the Go1005
3. When you want to update with the new camera files, the ONLY ones you have to re-load are the .ov2 data files. You do not need to re-load the .bmp files and you do not need to type in the warnings again. |

Or possibly you have downloaded the new database to a different location to the old one, but are looking at the d/b in the old location not the new location(Iv'e done this ) |

When I look at my downloaded UK Cam files the main zip file (pgpsw-speed-cams-tUGZ.zip) is date franked as 15/04/2011 21:47 but all of the files within the zip are all date franked 30/03/2011 23:38 which I'm almost sure is the same date and time as the previous download.....This is the same with the Eur cams, perhaps because I overwrote the original database files something on my computer is retaining the original date and time and not registering the new date and times, beats me.....I will see how it turns out with the nexted update and post the outcome on here. Thanks Andy concerning loading only the ov2 files which is not quite as bad, has anybody tried loading more than one file at a time I wonder or would that be risking a TT reboot perhaps..... |

Not possible, you can only upload one file at a time _________________ Darren Griffin |
