Would I be stupid to assume that there is a cheaper option or indeed any alternative option but visiting Tom Toms website with connected said device and credit card expecting a bill for £60+ for the download ??
any help would be ideal

Well, it would be stupid to assume discussion about obtaining any TomTom map other than through proper channels (TomTom Home, normally) would be discussed here or on any other legitimate forum. _________________ David |

forgive me, I wasn't implying that I wished to buy pirate software, not in the slightest, I'm totally against it....... it's just that as with the accessories there are other manufacturers making alternative compatible products. I know nothing whatsoever about map updates and wondered if they were offered by people providing more competitive prices than tomtom....... seemingly not though !
thankyou for your help,
The sat nav in question isn't mine, it's owned by someone who can't really afford the update at the moment

Don't take it personally, it's just we do get quite a few requests for help locating pirated software or maps.
You don't mention how old/what version the existing map is, but many people here would agree that there's little point keeping *completely* up to date. If you bought one map update in every three, you'd probably not miss much.
Also, if it is a Europe-wide map, he could consider buying a new UK-only map and using that while he's here, but reverting back to the older one just for the continent. |
