Just upgraded to Navcore 8.350 & UK map 830.2305 on my GO530
A curious thing has happened - some of my icons no longer show on the map e.g. I had my own British Rail symbol on a 22x22 bmp for railway stations. Now I can search for a station using Find on the map menu & when I select it, the icon appears ok on the first screen (which shows Back, Select etc. on a condensed street map).
However, when I click 'select' for the proper map, the label appears but not the icon.
When using a live route with directions etc., the icon is shown & the audible warning sounds.
The odd thing is that it doesn't do it with all my POI's. Any suggestions please ?

Being as this is one of yours, I presume you still have the original icon on your pc. I would Connect the GO to your main pc via Explorer, delete the one on the GO then copy and paste the one off your pc back to the GO.

Is the icon pure red in colour? if so you might have to change it to slightly off red as TomTom treats pure red as transparant - Mike

Thanks for the replies - I've deleted all my POI's & reinstalled from my PC as suggested & it seems to have worked - certainly the 2 that wouldn't show before do now - but as I have 141 categories I havn't checked them all yet ! Rolling Eyes

That's a different issue. Your unit 'hits the wall' if you try to display too many poi categories at once. Further, the map refresh is slowed down considerably the more poi's the unit tries to show.

Many have no more than 3 or 4 showing at once.

dhn - the odd thing about this is that even with all those POI's , everything worked ok until I upgraded - all POI's displayed & no significant slowing down Rolling Eyes

The limit for custom POI categories is 169 AFAIK although its a while since this figure was tested on a device, it could be this limit has been reduced, are all 141 categories now showing up correctly on the device or have some other disapeared?
Generally displaying lots of POI files does slow the map refresh rate down slightly which is why we recommend not to have them active as displayed on the map (you can still use them though even if not active) - Mike

It'll be more than 141 if he has our speed cameras.

Mike & Dennis
I've put 170 poi's on now (including your cameras) & I'll wade through them & see if they all show or if there is a limit, & let you know.

Smile I don't actually want 170 - it was just a test to see how many TT would take before it fell over !
I do really use quite a few though - PGPSW cameras, all airports/airfields (I'm in the aviation business), bus garages ( hobby !) , and JD Wetherspoons ( to feed me whilst indulging my hobby Wink
Thanks for your interest tho' Cool

At a wild stab at bringing the discussion back on topic Laughing , are you still seeing the 'invisible' POI icons?

Are you seeing the triangle at the bottom of the icon on the map? Do you just see it when you go through the "Find POI" menu or can you see it just by browsing the map in that area? Confused
