Can you use the TMC Traffic Receiver on a 740 LIVE ?

Odd question, but it works out almost the same to buy the 740, then buy the 730 T even after buying a separte TMC Traffic Receiver

any ideas ?

The 730 and 740 can both use the new USB TMC Traffic Receiver. but the old type TMC Traffic Receiver (oval shape) was meant for the x20 and x30 range.

There is not a 730 Live but you can use a TMC traffic receiver on a 740 if you want. If you do not want the Live Services you should consider the 730.

You cannot use GPRS traffic (subscription) on the 740 Live version, only TMC or HD.

On the 730 you can use GPRS or TMC traffic, the T indicates the receiver is bundled with the unit but look to see whether a 730 plus separate TMC is cheaper than a 730T, it often is. Apart from this they are identical.

I would look around for prices as the 730 should be dropping a lot by now.

You can get a TMC for as little as £20 if you shop around.
