Hi all

I hope someone can help me with the 540. It has completely locked up on the start up bridge screen and will not turn off.

i have tried holding down the on button. Also tried putting it on the dock.

I cant see any reset holes like the 530.

Any ideas?

Ian

Press and hold the power on/ off switch until the device reboots and plays a drum roll, typically 30 to 40 seconds, this is how you reset the newer devices - Mike

Do your x40s play the drum roll? Mine doesn't / never has! Is there a setting for this?

ETA: I mean on every start up?

You only get a drum roll following a reboot, restarting after a connection to the PC, removal/ insertion of a memory card or holding down the power switch are all ways to get the drum roll - normal power on will not produce the noise - Mike

I DON'T get a drum roll after disconnecting from the PC, never have done. No idea how or why it is different to a complete reboot - the progress bar goes across the bottom of the screen in the same way.

Such as after updating NavCore? If so, that's a no.

Such as after selecting Disconnect Device in TT Home? Yellow screen with blue line going left to right? If so, that's a no.

To be honest, I'm thinking of previous experience, mainly with a 720, Maybe I've never heard it on the 940 in the other situations.

But it (the 940) DOES on a reboot from a long power button press (I just did it).
