Help..
Hi, since the last software update from tomtom, the computer voices on my tomtom kept breaking up. I sent an email to tomtom about this regarding the problem, they told me to format the tomtom, which I did and I can now not get the computers voices on my tomtom to work. The computer voice is showing on my tomtom via my computer as a file but it is not showing as an option on the device itself. I have tried deleting and re-installing the LoquendoTTS folder without success.
Anyone got any ideas? |

Welcome to the forum, this stuttering voice is a known issue with the new Navcore software version 8,300 so formatting the device will do nothing to help.
Do you have a full backup of the device that could be re-installed to the device from the PC - Mike |

Hi, thanks for the prompt reply. I made a full back-up before I formatted the unit. Once I had formatted the Tomtom i reset it as advised by tomtom, then re-installed everything. |

Re-install the entire backup as the LoquendoTTS folder contains files that are updated with the 8,300 release, the old original folder won't contain these necessary files so the device cannot see the voices.
This does assume your backup was taken PRIOR to the update to Navcore 8,300 though? - if not there are a few other options to try - Mike |

that's the problem, I did the back-up after the update! When I backed up and subsequently restored the device I did the entire thing, one folder at a time as advised. I hope there are alternatives... |

Have a read through This Post I made a while ago, it covers rolling the device back to Navcore 8,010 and assuming your LoquendoTTS folder is in one piece this should recover the voices and stop the stuttering - it is of no use though if you are using version 815 maps on the device - Mike |

it worked!!!!! Thank-you Mike. I've spent weeks trying to sort out the problem... I'll try it out properly tomorrow but at least 'Kate' is back!
I do have some other questions but that will be for another day.
Thanks once again,
Paula

Glad to hear you resolved the issue, give the device a try on the open road and report back with any other issues you might have with the unit once you have been out and about - Mike |

Thanks guys, 'Kate' seems to be working ok so far.. and yes I'll be making a back-up now! I have got some other issues with it, but they're on different topics so I'm off to trawl through the forum to see if I can find the answers before I post a new topic..
