uk maps

hi all i am a newbie At This Had My car stolen with tom tom one in any way managed to get tom tom back minus memory card so i have bought a new one i have managed to get the software on but i need uk maps free or to buy plz can any one help

Sorry to hear about that but please don't go asking for maps. They are locked to the device.

You will need to purchase a new map from TomTom.

Hi, sorry to hear of your problems, the good news is there is PLENTY of advice to be had here, to get you going again.

To buy is easy...
You download TomTom's "Home" software from HERE.

Use the link on the left or if you have very old software use the one on the right first - update with that as far as possible and THEN download the version on the left and continue updating with that..

Connect the TomTom to the PC and Home should recognise it.
Log into your account (or create one if you haven't got one. You need to do this to lock your hardware to the downloaded software.

Update the software to the latest version first if necessary then use "Add Maps, Voices etc" to buy a new map.

Home will then download and install it for you.

As for getting the maps for free, that's beyond the scope of discussion on this forum I'm afraid (and is illegal too).
