Hi all,
Is it possible to use downloadable routes (and downloadable car icons) with a 520?
I must be missing something ifso and would be gratefull for any help please.

Yes.
You need to use HOME  and under Add Maps, Traffic, Voices, etc there are icons for both Routes and Images and Icons.

Hi Oldboy, Thanks for your rapid reply.
I downloaded the files ok and they are present oararn mt 520.
The car cursor I can select and get a confimation of change, but when I go back to main screen I still have the original cursor.
The new downloaded route is also on my 520 but I can find no way to open it

I don't know about the cursor, but where did you put the Route. It should be in the itn Folder, and can be accessed from the Itinerary Planning Menu.

The car cursors only work on the normal 3d driving view. If you are switched to 2d or are on the "Browse Map" page you won't see them.
Also, is it ONLY the downloaded ones you cannot select? If I remember correctly, the TT comes with several alternatives already loaded (yellow arrow, and about 40 cars and bikes. Have you tried those? If they work, then the cursor you downloaded must be corrupted or the wrong size/shape/format. If you got it via Home I wouldn't be at all surprised. They had a ringtone available for download that was completely incompatible. When I told TT about it, they just suggested I gave it a negative rating!

3D got the icons working, and for the routes I did a full shutdown and restart on my laptop, reistalled the items and all works ok now. (the usb conection was not working properly, there was no connect / disconnect 'dingdong')

Thanks, Andy. I seldom use 3d so had not discovered I could use a different cursor - especially as TomTom told me (as I posted on the Navcore 8 thread):
As for the car symbol, this is not a feature that the ONE range supports

Yes it does, the One XL and One Third Edition can both use the custom cursors when running the Navcore 8 software, I have both units sat in front of me with custom cursors displaying - Mike |
