hello all, new to the gps scene,
can anyone inform me if their is any difference between the usa models and the uk models, as the price for both is quite different.

It's just the base map (city centres etc) that differs - not really of much consequence - and you can change it I believe.

Buying from US is OK - you may find you get a duty charge by Customs and Excise - Allow for 6% (ish) then 17.5% VAT. Go for a reputable dealer. People have had good experience buying via e-bay from USA - but usual caveats apply.

Not sure about the support issues - GARMIN are pretty good but these things tend to be the gotcha - especially as it may be seen as second-hand even though it's new - depends on the dealer status with GARMIN.

thanks phil for the advice, i have opted for a home model, as the difference is just £15 , and i have a address for any issues.
