Is your device a One Third Edition? - if so have a read of This there is some additional information at the end of the write up that details how to put the full menu options back on the device - Mike |

First of all BACK UP THE DEVICE BEFORE TRYING THE FOLLOWING:
Where do you find the mnu file:
You have to create it, select the next box of text with your mouse so it is all highlighted, then right click and select "Copy"
MENUBLOCK|BLOCK_MAIN|BTM_GPS_POSITION|
MENUPAGE|TASK_PAGE1|Main menu 1 of 2|
MENUITEM|TASK_NAVIGATE_TO|
MENUITEM|TASK_MENU_FIND_ALTERNATIVES|
MENUITEM|TASK_MAINTAIN_POI|
MENUITEM|TASK_ADD_FAVORITE|
MENUITEM|TASK_MENU_PREFERENCES|
MENUITEM|TASK_PAGE2|
MENUPAGE|TASK_PAGE2|Main menu 2 of 2|
MENUITEM|TASK_MENU_PLAN_ATOB|
MENUITEM|TASK_SHOW_MAP|
MENUITEM|TASK_DELETE_ROUTE|
MENUITEM|TASK_MENU_TRAFFIC|
MENUITEM|TASK_ITINERARY|
MENUITEM|TASK_PAGE1|
Now start Note Pad on the PC, right click and select "Paste" (the same text as above will now be in your note pad application, use File/ Save As to save the file, call it TomTom and put it on the desktop of your PC.
Exit the Note Pad application and go to the desktop of your PC, locate the TomTom.txt file and right click, select "Re-Name" change the file extension from .txt to .mnu (just OK the warning Windows offers as it doesn't like people messing with file extensions).
Right click the re-named file on the desktop and select "Copy"
Connect the TomTom device to the PC and switch it on, allow it to connect to the PC, shut down TomTom Home (if it starts up) and select Windows Explorer.
Locate the TomTom device, it will be showing as a drive letter, click this once, then select File/ New Folder - Name the new folder:
SdkRegistry (pay attention to the case of the characters though).
Right click on the newly created SdkRegistry folder and select "Paste", your new menu is now in the correct location, shut down Windows Explorer, disconnect the device from the PC and let it boot up, you should have full menu access on the device now (note MapShare and HelpMe disapear as a result of doing this) - Mike |

No I did it from memory, now some would call that sad!! but its not a difficult task, the important bit is the backup BEFORE doing anything like this just in case - Mike |
