|
|
Hi all,
I have a EverMore BT-R920 receiver and it's paired with my Dell Axim X50v.
I'm sure it used to be quite accurate in the update department, 1 to 2 secs delay, but recently it seems to be more in the 4 seconds area.
Strange thing is that if I stop and start off again after maybe 2 to 3 seconds, the GPS display never actually drops to zero.
I've tried to alter the baud rate up to 56K, and it works but the uptime time doesn't get any better.
I'm using this with a couple of apps, which both show the same delay in updates.
1) - TT6
2) - Home written GPS Speedo.
Is there anything else I can look at to try to get the delay back to normal?
Many Thanks,
Paul Ryder |

What chipset is that? Their own (which was bad) or SiRF III?
Changing the baud rate has absolutely no impact. Try a factory reset. _________________ Lutz

Play around with SiRFDemo and switch static navigation off, see if that helps. Don't forget to set the receiver back to NMEA. _________________ Lutz

Hi,
Thanks for the repy..
Now maybe I've done something really dumb, but I think I've my GPS unit.
I've installed SIRFDemo and got it connected via BT on my PDA.
I tried connecting via BT on the PC, but I cannot unless I use XTNDConnect and that does not allow the GPS unit to be assigned a COM Port.
Still connected ok from SIRFDemo on the PDA and switched to SIRF Mode, that's when I lost connection.. SD will not reconnect.
I think the data is coming through as my own app seems to be receiving data, just no valid GPS signal.
Tried connecting via USB, but the unit is not detected.. Maybe I've the wrong USB cable.
Bit of a loss as to what to do now..
Any suggestions?
Paul. |

remove the battery ovenight, or for longer if necessary. It should then fall back to NMEA mode. _________________ Lutz
