Hi first post.....stuff arrived today.

Installed TomTom nav 3 on my Casio Em500 Pocket PC

Configured GPS on PPC to Haicom GPS(serial cable port1)

GPS mouse just sits there with the LED flashing to say no satellites are locked.

Any ideas...I am losing my mind here.

Thanks,

Ben

Also...does the Gps mouse operate on its own?

ie. Will it lock to the sats i the Pocket Pc is not present?

The mouse will acquire sats on it's own, it doesn't need software to acquire.

Never tried it on an EM500 combination, but in theory it should work. Try setting the driver to NMEA 0183v2 4800 in TTN3.

Thanks Dave..tried that setting.

Hours later and still no joy.

I even left the mouse plugged in in the car...came back and it was just blinking away. My head has really gone now.
I don't know what to do. I even wiped everything off the PPC to try a fresh install.....no good.

Try placing the mouse outside of the car, some windscreens prevent signals from the satalites reaching the receiver (really it is true!). If this is the case you will need a re-radiating antenna installed in a suitable location (usually rear screen) to pass the data on.

Put your location in your profile and you may find there is someone down the road who is willing to test you mouse in there setup (hey, you never know!)
