Safety Camera Installation Problem

Hey Folks

SatNav newbie here. Just bought Navman ICN750, subscribed to your site and downloaded the Europe Single Safety Camera File.

Got it to my PC OK, but when installing to satnav, I get to the POI Options Screen. After making all the changes (Alerts, Visibility Level), I click OK and get a "List Index Out Of Bounds (-1)" error. From memory (I was a database administrator too long ago to recall) this is a database error, rather than a device error.

I've tried making the file both asc and csv - no difference
I've tried removing the header from the file - no difference
I've tried reducing the size of the file to only six entries in case my unit was restricted in the number of POIs it could store - no difference.

I have also tried all of the above with the UK only single file, and the GATSO only file.

My POI settings currently only have eight different types of POIs alerts on, and the manual states I can have 25 custom POI files - there are none.

I found one post back in January about this same thing, but no solution was posted.

Any help would be appreciated.

You are not going to believe this. The lazy programmers at the Smart ST software people ought to get their butt kicked.

The error is caused by setting the alert distance to an incorrect amount. I was setting it to 500ft (Imperial). Not allowed.

The settings can only be input by using the up and down arrows, and not by typing in any amount you like (although it lets you). It gives no indication that the error relates to this field.

Very lazy programming !!!

Anyway, hope this helps someone in future.
