TT6 on HTC P3300, internal error loading map

I could not find my topic discussed in this forum... Got this phone a few days ago, and love it... but cannot get TomTom going.

At startup, it tells me there are no maps and takes me thru the process of selecting one. Once this is done, I click "download" (it seems to locate it, then goes into "opening"), and after a long delay I get a message saying "internal error; cannot active: ac = pc = [removed],dc = [removed] download failed, contact www.tomtom.com"

Well, TomTom doesn't even reference my HTC P3300 phone or this problem.

Any ideas?

Which version of the Artemis did you purchase the cut down version allows you to download a single city map, or the full version is supplied with a DVD containing all the maps required for Europe? - Mike

I purchased the sampler version, which allows downloading just one map... and that's the map that's giving me the trouble installing...!

It would appear the TomTom site server is off line or overloaded at the moment, so try again later or in the morning, nothing you can really do untill it is back on line - Mike

Thank you, Mike... The term "internal error" might suggest something in the device's application, perhaps a corrupted component.

I've been trying for the last three days, I can't imagine their web server can be that busy for that long... but maybe a lot of people gave TomToms for Christmas...

Another possibility just ocurred to me... I live in the US and the HTC P3300 hasn't yet been released here... I'm trying to download a map for the Dallas, Texas area...

Is it possible the TomTom/HTC site doesn't have Dallas and that's the reason for the failure? If so, what would happen if I just buy the Dallas map, which is available, and install it?
