Recently bought a streetpilot i3. Doesn't show correct time even after setting up time zone correctly. It hasn't managed to acquire a satellite signal yet though I have only tried it outside the house not on a journey yet. Does it need a satellite signal to correct the time? |

Yes it does, unless you keep batteries in it all the time. Try taking to a car park or somewhere open, with no tall buildings or trees and leave it on the dash or on the roof of the car as i did and it will get its first fix which can take a few minutes but from then on it should lock onto satellites within a few seconds. |

Thanks, that sorted it. It took quite a while to lock onto a satellite the first time but now seems ok and the time corrected itself. |

It can take a while. My first lock took 20 minutes but then i updated to firmware 2.70 and that one took another 45 minutes. Since then 10-30 seconds.... |
