Hi from a newbie.
I am thinking of buying a Garmin nuvi 350.
Please could anybody give definatives answers to the following.
The online manual is the american version with no mention of post codes
Can post codes be used to set the destination? if so how many figs?
Does the 12 volt supply from the car charge the nuvi battery.
I see from the forum threads that a review of the Garmin nuvi 300 is in process, ? how soon. awaited with interest.
Mean time thanks for any help with above.

Hi,
It allows full 7 digits (4 space 3) to be entered.
Yes, I think it will charge the battery when connected to the car lighter socket. TBH I haven't tried that yet, but will do soon. |

The Nuvi is definately the best I have tried, and have been using GPS for around 5 years now
Will charge and / or run from 12v no problem, standalone battery life is around 6-8 hours, less if using MP3, etc. features on unit at same time (as you would expect!)
Post coding is best of any unit I have tried (full post coding, no house number needed, but says which side of street as well as pin-pointing house if you enter house number). Only issue is with postcoding in general, not the Nuvi as some country houses don't have unique post codes, so may send you a little away from actual location. But this is the best we have yet - believe the Royal Mail are looking into new postcodes for some of these rural areas???
Excellent user interface - for the beginner, very simple, for the experienced, very quick
Slimline and light
Excellent display |
