I read on the Garmin site that the new NT version uses "better compression" than previous versions.
Does this mean that apart from taking up less space the maps are the same?
Does anyone know as I may be able to get an "old" City Navigator V7 disk. |

Yes, that is what I am led to believe.
Updated map versions have different numbers, ie v7 vs v8.
I'm not 100% sure if the non-NT maps run on the newer GPS units like the i3 - anyone know? _________________ Gone fishing! |

Thanks for confirming which maps work.
I have also found a good table showing all the GPS units and map products. It's in German but you can get the gist of it.

Zogman - are you saying that Mapsource Metroguide Europe v7 will run on my i3 if I put it on a blank transflash card? |

newtosatnav...metroguides will run on the i3 , ie show where you are etc ,but will not 'autoroute' or give you voice navigation....the only exception is the usa version 4.01 which for some reason does the job very well.....as you are probely aware city selects and city navigators will autoroute.. _________________ *************************** |

Yeah, you definately want the Europe City Select or City Navigator not the Metroguide. _________________ Gone fishing! |
