How to connect a G520 to laptop

how do i connect my laptop to the 520?

Well, you connect your 520 to the laptop by simply using the docking station that came with it, or with any USB to mini-USB lead.

At that point, Windows should recognise the TomToms internal flash memory and its SD card slot as TWO new drives and give them the next two available drive letters (like your main PC harddisk is probably "C:").
You can now copy and paste files to and from the TomTom using Windows Explorer.

If you want to update software or maps etc, you now have to do it via TomTom's "Home" utility program, a copy of which was on the CD in the box, but a newer version is available on the TT website.
