As the information says C330, C340 cannot save routes(2720 can save 50), but I still don't get it what's that means? Can anyone make an example for me?
Thanks. |

If it means what I think, then it means that you can't create a route and then save it for use again and again. For instance, I have a Garmin GPS V which I use on my motorbike. I created a route from my house to a friend's house some 50 miles away. Every time I use the V, I can select that route as opposed to having to plan it again.
Apologies if that isn't what is meant. _________________ Tim |

Example: On a garmin c320 I plan a route from home to a destination 40 miles away. I look at the route, to confirm I am happy with the route planned. There is no way to save this route. Once I switch the C320 off, the route is lost.
This is not a major problem. The Garmin has a "my locations" section, which remembers recently accessed waypoints. When you switch the unit on again in the car, you simply go to "my locations" and select the recently accessed destination as the target address. You can also save waypoints if you wish. These are accessed under a separate heading in "my locations". The C320 is very fast at calculating routes. |

The saved routes I have on my Quest are ones that I created on the PC and uploaded to the Quest. Generally I create the routes on the PC because I want to go a certain route which isn't the Quickest or the Shortest (which is what the GPS would calculate) or I want to avoid certain areas or roads.
You can also calculate a route on the GPS and then save it for later use. On older GPS units (like my old GPS-V) this can save time because they could take several minutes to calculate a route.
The new GPS units calculate routes in seconds, not minutes so it doesn't matter too much. I do find it odd that Garmin have removed useful features like this though. _________________ Gone fishing! |
