I have loaded NAVMAN to my iPaq 3970 and it worked great for one trip. I then put it in the cradle a second time, it slipped out of the jacket whilst I was pushing the power lead in and went crazy saying it was shutting down the nav system but not letting me OK. Now it will not find any sats but the rest of it works fine. I tried to reinstall but when deleting the programme got the message that Windows\iPaqddk.dll is either in use or read only. I have stopped all running programmes in memory but can't delete the programme or reload it. I think something is stopping the sats registering. Anyone know where I go from here? I'm new to pocket PC's so not too technical please. Thanks. |

Dallen, I don't think reinstallation is going to make much difference as it sounds more of a hardware issue, but to get around this driver, take off the sleeve, then soft reset the iPAQ, then uninstall and it shouldn't complain. Even though you may have taken the jacket off, the DLL will still be running in memory so a soft reset is required. |

Dave - thanks for that but being a bit of a novice to the miniture world I don't know how to do the soft reset. I only thought it might solve my problem because when I put the sleeve on I get a message that says it does not recognise the card and has no device driver. The sats seem to be unable to find a port and I am hoping that it is because the sleeve is not recognised. If you could tell me how to do the soft reset I would be really grateful
Thanks

Dave - forget that - I have found the little reset button on the bottom and have removed the programme. I am going to reinstall and will let you know how I get on.

Dave - you are a star - reinstalled and everything appears to be working just fine.
Many thanks for your help.
