I own an SPV E200 Smartphone and I've tried Mapopolis with a demo map. It works well with a Fortuna Clip-on Bluetooth GPS receiver that I had from my boss, just for a short test. I coupled Phone and Fortuna; then activated the serial ports (com6 and com7) for bluetooth, in the phone, then I told Mapopolis to search for GPS on com7, and it finds it.

Then I ordered a BT-338 (still waiting for it !), since it seems the best, and now I want to ask if someone has already tried this group (SPV, BT-338 and Mapopolis)....

I have some doubt, because I also made a test with a BT-308 and Mapopolis can't see it.

Thank You !
Sergio

Welcome to the forums.

What you found is a bug in your phone's operating system, nothing's wrong with the BT receivers. You can only have ONE serial port device registered. You need to completely remove ALL bondings before trying the BT-308 (or 338 once you have it)

Need help too.

Recently purchased this BT338 and cannot installed the software onto the phone.
I receive an error when trying to install the .cab file.
Error received is this "GPS Information GPSinfo.cab failed to install on your device because the installation file is not intended for this device"

I have seen posts about rom updates and also .cab file unlocks or somekind but i really need some help.

Hope you can.

That CAB file is for Pocket PCs, not Smartphones.

Anyhow, you don't need that program, the receiver will work just fine without it.
