Did you put your product code on the TomTom website when you registered? |

You'll have to contact TomTom direct, and they will advise you. nobody will give you a product code, or any other code on here. _________________ Using an A to Z

Post a question on the TomTom website...they are usually pretty quick at answering (<24 hrs) and you don't have to wait around as they answer via email. |

You mean you installed the GB map from the original CD? Isn't it still in its original paper sleeve? The code is on the back side of the sleeve. |

I have copied from ORIGANL CDs to SD card, formated and reinstalled. bought new card installed again. All without having to put in code again. I think when you register with tomtom, and tie you tomtom go to the software, as long as you dont try to install on a new device you dont need to add your authization code again.
think this is right. |

I think if you make a backup of the whole SD card you do not need to reactivate it. As the "Map" is already pre-activated. However when installing from the CD I imagine you would have to activate it. You need the Product Code (on the CD) and the Device Code (on the info page of your TTG) to generate an Activation Code at www.ttcode.com. So if you lost your Product Code, Tomtom will need to send you a new CD. I think they have done this to one of the Expansys users, so I dont imagine it would be a problem. Obviously they may ask for some details, as they dont want software pirates abusing their good will. One good thing that might come out of it for you is, youll probably get the latest maps if you didnt have them already!! |

All questions about lost product codes and the like have to go to TomTom Support - nobody here is going to post their product codes. Not only are product codes used for activating maps, but TomTom may well use them as proof of entitlement to any future upgrades (to upgrade from Navigator 2 to Navigator 3 on the Pocket PC required entering your product code into a special online store). If someone else knows your product code, they may order an upgrade using your code, stopping you from upgrading!
I would urge people not to contact TomTom for new map CDs unless there is no alternative. TomTom have already made it clear that they can't hand out copies of 390 maps on request, as if they upgrade someone with older maps, they are then liable to pay a licence fee to TeleAtlas. I'm sure they're wise to people trying it on.
If you really are stuck, contact TomTom Support, but it really is your responsibility to keep your product codes and similar safe. You can enter product codes into the My TomTom area of TomTom's web site so that you don't lose them.

Still can't understand HOW you re-loaded map with cd, but lost the code?????? which is on the Back of the sealed cd sleeve.

i expect YOU stored it now in MyTomTom\MyProducts on TomTom's website? Then it never gets lost (as long as TomTom stays alive), even if you throw away your valuable productcode. |
