I'm quite new to TomTOm GO.
I have 2 questions.
On a drive on Sunday, I noticed 2 missing McDonalds from the McDonalds POI download. Can I tell someone about this and get them added? Also, one was on the wrong side of thr road.
Then, is there a POI download for ALL resteraunts? Not just specific ones, so that I can replave the buult in ones?

Craig
To establish the correct co-ordinates, the best way is first to locate yourself and the TTG exactly at the Point of Interest. Then either look at the GPS screen and write down the current Long and Lat, and/or save the GPS Position directly into the appropriate POI list using a suitably unique name.
If you've noted down the figures, you can politely email them with the location name to the creator of the list, or post them as corrections in whatever forum you found the list in the first place.
To add the location to your own TTG POI list, go to "Change Preferences" > "Maintain POI" > "Add POI", and choose the Macdonalds list. Then tap "GPS Position", type in the name and press "Done". Voila!
For the Macdonalds that's shown in the wrong place, you need to do an "Add POI" with a similar-but-different name to the original location's entry, then carefully delete the original wrong entry. Editing and renaming a user-added POI entry isn't possible in the TTG, but you could do it using the freeware utility described below...
Otherwise, you probably require a intermediate step using your Windows PC, if you have one. There's a freeware program called PoiEdit which can create or edit existing .ov2 POI files, which is the format that TTG uses for user-added POI lists.
With PoiEdit, you can add the Long and Lat decimal values given by the GPS Status screen to a new entry in the POI list and it will re-create the .ov2 file for you to copy back into your TTG's Great_Britain-Map folder.
Finally, you can't replace the built-in POI lists that come pre-installed, but you can "hide" any of them and then introduce a new list .ov2 file with a slightly different name, subject to the apparent limit of (IIRC) 81 POI categories in total, including any invisible ones.
