|
|
I have recently noticed that I no longer get alerts when CamerAlert is running in the background. CamerAlert no longer appears in the Background App Refresh list. I am using iPhone 6s running IOS 11.3.1
Has anyone else got the same problem? Does anyone know of a fix? |

Perhaps a little more specific? There is a known problem that audio stops after a phone call? _________________ Dennis

Would a phone call make CamerAlert disappear from the Background App Refresh list? |

Sorry I don’t understand the question. All I know is I use the app in foreground and when I get a phone call I lose audio in the app. _________________ Dennis

My problem is that the Background App Refresh option for CamerAlert has disappeared. Coincident with its disappearance, CamerAlert stops giving alerts when running other apps, like Waze, for example. This is a new problem for me with a combination that has worked brilliantly for me until now.
So CamerAlert used to be included in the list of Background Refresh Apps and now is not. Has anyone else had the same experience? Was BRA dropped deliberately? Or is there a fault with my set-up? |

DennisN, just to avoid any confusion, I have no problem running CamerAlert in the foreground. The background problem occurs regardless of phone calls. |

To confirm this is under
Settings
General
Background App Refresh
The switches here determine if an app can continue to run in the background.
My iPhone 6s iOS 11.3.1 doesn't list BAR for CamerAlert either. |

Thanks PaulB2005. Yes, that's exactly where it used to be. But no longer, at least on my phone. Frustrating. It's there for Waze and countless other things and used to be there for CA. |

PaulB2005, sorry, I meant to ask -- as we have the same phones and software -- does CamerAlert work in the background for you or does it disappear after a mile or two? |

Similar problem here.
IOS 11.3.1 on iPhone 8
CamerAlert does not appear under Settings - General - Background App Refresh.
I get no alerts whilst CamerAlert is running in the background.
The blue bar at the top of the screen which warns that "CamerAlert is Actively Using Your location" disappears after 45 seconds.
CamerAlert is still in the list of background tasks when I double click the home button and can be brought into the foreground.
When in the foreground I get alerts as normal. _________________ Paul |

No expert me, but it does make sense to me that it would stop working in the background without the background refresh. My map usually shows the last point at which it gave up the ghost.
So can I please report this as a fault and can we please have our BAR back? I realise it's probably another Apple issue and it may not be simple, but it would be good to have it back. Have dug out my old Garmin for CamerAlert for now, but it does feel like I'm going back in time.
Thanks PGPSW for any action and of course grateful for any acknowledgement that the issue is being looked at. |

Just get an Android phone. Can't see the point in being an Apple FanBoy and paying through the nose for stuff. |

Work provide the Apple toys for free so can't see the point in paying for an Android phone. _________________ Paul |
