|
|
I recently bought a Nuvi 67LM (and it is working fine). I also have an old SD card with USA Maps on it which are quite out of date now and I see that I could buy Garmin NuMaps Lifetime North America.
Is it OK to have 2 regions lifetime maps on one device? Am I going to have enough memory or is that down to the size of microSD card I use - can I even use a microSD card?
Thanks |

You certainly can have two lifetime maps.
Note though if the original map was supplied on a card by Garmin its not updateable. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Thank you
Is memory going to be an issue? |

Memory isn't an issue as nuvis can take cards up to 32Gb. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Not sure why but I decided to check with Garmin about this and their response was :-
"I am afraid nuMaps Lifetime North AMerica will not be compatible to your device, The nuvi 67LM is preloaded with European maps and can only be updated to this region."
They have suggested buying a new preloaded SD card with more up-to-date maps |

Well they're half correct! The download and sd card version aren't updateable, but the DVD version is, although you need to first buy the DVD and then the lifetime update. The snag is that Garmin have just discontinued supplying the DVD option via their website. However they should still be available via 3rd party retailers. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Thank you
I feel like a numpty now, I know my SD card of USA is out of date and I intend to bin it - but - I mistakenly thought all I had to do was buy "Garmin NuMaps Lifetime North America USA & Canada Maps Update" I now realise I need to buy a suitabe map AND "Garmin NuMaps Lifetime North America USA & Canada Maps Update". |

Why not buy a Garmin with Life Time maps in the US on your next visit
You can maintain it on your computer at home or on your laptop when travelling.
Normally prices in the US are not bad however at the moment the dollar is a bit expensive, I hope the dollar value will get back to a more normal value before long. |
