The language on my unit is set to english, but whenever I look up a traffice incident, it is prefixed with Preitenegg. Why is this and what does it mean please?
Thanks for any suggestions

Preitenegg is a small town in Austria. _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

Yes, I have seen that on Google, but it doesn't explain what it is doing displayed on my screen whilst travelling in England!! I have seen similar issues reported on a German forum, but Google translate only gives a rough idea of what it is.

I too have this problem on my 2569LMT-D
Garmin support said update software to the latest and do a master reset (backup favourites first!).
I did that and no change.
I wonder if Preitenegg is worth a visit. Their website makes the place look quite pretty! |

Looking at the picture I reckon Garmin think the M3 goes there.
If mine started that I'd probably switch to the UK maps that probably don't know about it.
I'm considering a visit to Private because they seem have a good bus service going there. _________________ DashCam:

Unfortunately, not just the M3, but everything reported by the unit is prefixed with Pretenegg
My support request was met with a generic update software and look for firmware for the traffic receiver. All software was up to date and there was nothing in the "others" section except vehicle images.
It isn't a major issue, but it is something I would like to know why it is happening, which the other forums and Garmin don't seem to have an answer for.

I am using Inrix through the cable, but the reply I received was:
Quote: | Thank you for contacting Garmin Europe.
I am happy to help.
Before enabling the new traffic subscription, update the GPS device's software and GTM traffic receiver's software.
Software for both the device and the traffic receiver cable may be updated by downloading, installing, and running one of the following update options:
Garmin Express: http://www.garmin.com/express
WebUpdater: http://www.garmin.com/webupdater
When updating via either method, be sure to check the additional updates list for anything that references the GTM firmware and select it for download. To check for additional updates in Garmin Express with the device connected:
Click Tools
Under Optional Updates, click Other Files
Select appropriate updates under Other Files
Once the software has been updated to the most recent version for both the device and the traffic receiver, the traffic receiver would need to be connected to the device to receive the update.
If the device was packaged with a traffic subscription (indicated by a T in the model name), there is no need to activate anything and the traffic should begin once the device is connected to the receiver and vehicle power and has also acquired satellites within the traffic coverage area.

Very nice reply, but it doesn't take into account I have been using the unit for months, so am not only just wanting to know how to use it.[/quote] _________________ Garmin Drivesmart 51 LMT-D Europe |

Also, telling you to update the GTM receiver when you're on a TA cable isn't the best of advice.
Must remember to check mine. _________________ DashCam:

Looks like we're stuck for the time being then

Unfortunately, the issue with 'Preitenegg' appearing on the traffic incidents page has been brought to our attention.
We are currently investigating the cause to achieve a resolution to this.
The fix will be within a software update but we cannot yet be certain of when this will be.
I would recommend looking at Garmin Express intermittently for software updates.
I apologize for the inconvenience. |
It isn't a major hassle to me, just really like to know why it is there and what should be there in its' place.

I had a look at mine but because I don't use mine for navigation I don't see that display.
At least they are on the case. _________________ DashCam:
