Hi
I'm looking for an offline Android SatNav app, free or paid. All the most popular versions: Co Pilot, NavFree, Sygic, OsmAnd, MapFactor etc are acceptable, except that none of them offers the option to mute voice instruction while maintaining camera and traffic audible alerts.
I can do without "Bitchin'Betty' telling me which way to turn, but would definitely like an audible warning for speed cameras.
Surely there's a product out there that provides this basic level of control--can anyone point me in the right direction? |

How about using the stand-alone "CamerAlert" app. from this site?
You can install it alongside the Nav app of your choice and then just use the voice alerts from CamerAlert and mute the audio in the other app. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Thanks, Andy
Excellent idea--how do I run it in the background--just load it with "never show map?" |

Just open your nav program over the top of it. You can't see it, so it's in the background and does not use any data. It only uses your phone data if you have it in the foreground and display the map. |
