Tomtom has finally released the Postcodes updates for the new 8.65 maps.
They can be downloaded via MyTomtom (if it works...) or directly from Tomtom:
http://www.tomtom.com/updates/zipcodes/Map_865/zip.zip
Postcodes are for UK, Netherlands and Singapore *
* at the moment the actual postcode file for Singapore seems missing in the .zip file. Only the version file is there

Perhaps a little off topic but do others have the same impression as me that the number of homes covered by a post code is getting larger?
My post code is for around 50 homes in one samll cul de sac. Yesterday I needed to go to a location in Oakham near Leicester the post code already covered a development of around 100 homes in one cul de sac with lots of spurs and has now also been used for a new adjacent development of around another 100 homes in another cul de sac with spurs.
The problem with the new development is that at the moment the road or its name name does not appear on any maps. |

I meant to write MyTomtom (and for that I wrote "..if it works"). That's the only way for the newer devices (GO 100x and Via) when the new map 8.65 update will be available, hopefully starting from this week (at least Tomtom has promised so.. but I don't hold my breath).
It may well be that the Postcode update will be another missing feature... |

Surely TomTom will only consider that you are entitled to a new set of postcodes on a 1000 series model if you buy a new map from them.
A pity therefore that none of the versions of the 1000 series sold in the UK or Europe comes with Lifetime Map Updates............................ |
