Really very nicely done. Love the 3D view and normally I'd consider it just fluff. Beautifully fluid display. Almost makes me want to buy an iPhone just for that app. Almost.

Have downloaded my copy. About to go out to work (HGV Driver), so will give it a good test today. Ill report back later.
It looks good so far. Very quick to open, nice clean graphics and interface. _________________ Please follow me on twitter @mdyson1968 |

It wont let me create an account, keeps saying can't connect to the server.
It's considerably faster than TomTom on a 3G, I just looked around tower bridge with the 3D models and although it wasn't fluid scrolling around, it certainly wasn't a slouch either.
I like the display, I don't like the menus, what is it with the sat nav people doing their own interfaces?! TomTom have it right on the iPhone using the native widgets. This looks far too android-y.
Will have a proper play with it later!
Edit: This is blisteringly fast on a 3G if you're comparing the standard view against TomTom. |

Ok, here's my initial thoughts on it.
Pros
Map view is very nice. Has a nice feature that it zooms out to give a better overview of junctions etc, useful if there's a set of instructions which will require you to get in a specific lane very soon, seems random when it does it though. And the "cursor" rotates with the road I find this annoying TomTom that when you go around a corner the cursor remains pointing at the top of the screen and doesn't rotate.
It's very fast at address input, much much much faster than TomTom which does this like a slug.
Cons
Everything else really.
Planning is virtually non-existent, very very poor. You can plan a journey to A and that's your lot, there doesn't appear to be much in the way (or anything to alter a route).
The UI is gash. Horrible. Please sygic, native widgets.
Route planning seems, erm, adventurous. I planned a route from the fens to SW19 and well, it gave a route that I'd not use in a month of sundays.
It doesn't auto login to the sygic site and you have to click login everytime you start it.
The "location sharing" seems only to work with other aura users, if you could view this on a website it'd be bloody useful, like when I'm driving home and my fiance rings to find out how the traffic is and how I'm getting on!
I'm surprised that for something that appears to have been in development for so long is so devoid of anything. Disappointing first release, but I suppose that gives plenty of room for improvement. |

Your review has convinced me not to buy this, maybe I'll buy Copilot as a space saving alternative to my TT Western Europe app install. |
