|
|
Hi
I am considering buying either Tom Tom 3 or Kane Car Pilot, but to be honest I am having difficulty choosing between them. From reading "objective" reviews of these products, they seem to have a very similar spec - apart from the fact that Kane use Navman mapping.
Does anyone in this forum have any advice?

Use Kane (or ALK) if you are into serious route planning and optimization. Use TomTom if you are geekily playing around and use navigation mostly for fun. _________________ Lutz

Kane is rebranded Destinator. It has had it's fair share of bugs and still has some unresolved problems.
Personally for the UK I'd look at CoPilot or TomTom. Oh and I use TomTom, I guess I'm a geek but I use it to get me where I need to go which it does very well, I don't wish to have to do any more than enter my destination _________________ Darren Griffin |

I bet I'm not the only one who would like Lutz to expand on reasons for choosing Kane Car Pilot. I assume you are refering to the Car Pilot based on Destinator 2 since the prommised Destinator 3 version seems still some way off.

OK, so I made a mistake... I thought Kane was a rebranded CoPilot, not a rebranded Destinator.
I still maintain the statement that TomTom is way geekier than CoPilot though. Let's talk Multistop route optimization, or map cutting with route corridors... _________________ Lutz
