1. in the new version and previous versions especially when driving in rural areas there are no roads on maps or very slow to refresh.
2. when starting 1.0.1 if no or a weak gps signal is found iphone reverts to standby even though it is selected not to in options.
3. how about a remove button, there are a lot of specs or road safety cams no longer where they were originally marked |

I'm a real Newbie, having started using CamerAlert yesterday. In these two days I have submitted 17 Removes. Tap the icon, or List view then tap the particular camera and up comes a page where you can do it - there are five options to tap as appropriate...
Edit Details
Yes I saw it!
Request Removal
Add photo
Add voice note.
Hopefully somebody clever will come along and do you a screen shot and better description of how to do it (I've tried following directions on how to do a screenshot of my 3GS, but with utter failure so far!! _________________ Dennis

Would you believe it, I've just managed to do screenshots (probably when midnight strikes or something!)
On your map, tap the camera you want to remove and it'll display details, with an arrow, THUS.....
Tap the arrow and it'll give you this page...

But don't submit removals for mobile cams just because they are not there when you pass the location |

That will be because you have no phone signal!
The map data is downloaded on the fly, no signal, no map. The app still functions.
You could switch to 'show map only when near' or use list view instead. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I have been surprised, since starting to use my new iPhone and CamerAlert since Wednesday just how often I lose signal - I never noticed anything before and was convinced that Vodafone had very widespread coverage, but I now know they do have gaps all over the place, not just under a Welsh hill! _________________ Dennis

And the data signal will be the first part to drop, first from 3G to GPRS and then lost completely before voice signal goes.
Voice coverage is pretty good with most networks but data is much poorer than people imagine with 3G coverage being very patchy. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I get the problem that the iphone goes into standby even if set not to. Also with other sat nav apps. Interesting you say it is when the GPS signal is weak on start up. Must monitor that. Can anybody confirm this? _________________ Alan - iPhone 5 64GB, with CamerAlert, TomTom Europe & CoPilot |

from what i understand, this is a general 'issue' with the iphone software. so even if "don't go into standby" is selected from within an app, the iphone OS won't always take notice of it...

And don't forget that when using the map view, if you are not connected via 3G (ie EDGE or GPRS) then the phone will be in effect, off the hook and people will NOT be able to phone you.
GPRS and EDGE cannot simultaneously handle data and voice. 3G can handle data and voice.
Bear this in mind when travelling with the map view option.

I wondered why I sometimes missed calls even when I had a good (non-3g) signal. _________________ Alan - iPhone 5 64GB, with CamerAlert, TomTom Europe & CoPilot |
