Quote: | Your Map Update Service has expired. That means you’ve enjoyed a whole year of the latest maps, accurate navigation and stress-free driving.
But don’t worry! Renewing is easy. Renew now, and you'll get another year of the latest maps. Map Update Service is available from the equivalent of just £ 7.95 per quarter.
To remind you, that is:
• Four new maps every year

Hi Folks
The quote is from an email from Tomtom telling me that my 12 month map update service has expired. Now, I am sure that I have not received 4 updates during the last 12 months and doubt if I have received 3. Mind you, I maybe wrong, but I don’t think so. If someone can please tell me the version numbers over the last twelve months I will look in my backups when I get a few minutes. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

I had exactly the same e-mail and thought I had not had my four maps.
Checking with TT, I now discover that I did and it was my records that were wrong. Here's the versions and dates:
Map update service
Map version 810 - Downloaded 25th Sept 2008 (release date: 03 Sept 08)
Map version 815 - Downloaded 11th Nov 2008 (release date: 10 Nov 08)
Map version 825 - Downloaded 27th Feb 2009 (release date: 27 Feb 09)
Map version 830 - Downloaded 18 May 2009 (release date: 18 May 09)
Map version 835 - Downloaded 20 Aug 2009 (release date: 20 Aug 09)
Hope it helps. _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Now using Maps & Waze on Samsung Galaxy S4 + CamerAlert of course! |

Yes, it shocked me also - I had been quite scathing in my questions to TT and give the guy in Customer Service his due, he didn't just respond, he was vbery helpful and after I checked my backups, I apologised.
I'll put it down to advancing years, as I got my bus pass a couple of months ago and don't use my 520 on the 10A route to town! _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Now using Maps & Waze on Samsung Galaxy S4 + CamerAlert of course! |
